The Institute of Synthetic Rubber is the largest scientific and experimental production center, focusing on fundamental and applied rubber research conducted in Russia. The institute developed and implemented the world's first industrial method for producing synthetic rubber—one of the landmark achievements of the 20th century.
Over the years, the Institute's research and developments have led to the establishment of large-scale synthetic rubber and latex production facilities at 14 plants across the former USSR, accounting for over 90% of all rubber and latex produced in the country.
The Institute's high scientific potential and the professionalism of its management and staff enable it to fulfill government contracts and federal and industry-specific scientific and technical programs. Institute participates in the implementation of key national projects, as well as in international scientific cooperation and foreign economic activity. Institute's developments not only facilitate the Russian economy's transition from a raw materials-based to a processing-based model, increasing the country's overall sustainability and competitiveness, but also contribute to scientific and technological progress and the improvement of global society.
